NTI Residency Program

As part of your NTI experience you will be required to attend a number of 4 - 10 day residencies - these will be worked out for mutual availability. NTI will offer intensive experiential residencies (in Atlantic Canada, unless otherwise pre-arranged) with facilitators Rev. Sandi and Rev. Barry King. These retreats are intended to provide the experiential base required to develop skills that the student learns about through the distance education component. Some of the residency facilitators are world-renowned experts in their specific field. If not otherwise obtained, two residencies in most cases will provide the required 300 personal experience credit hours for graduation from an NTI program.

The student will be required to prepare for and follow-up from these experiential residencies through practicum and internship programs, as well as their apprenticeship, within their home communities. Practicums and internships both include mentoring by an NTI instructor and are given a mark. Apprenticeships are mentored but no mark is given. Practicums are experiential, but not necessarily under direct supervision of someone in their home community. Internships on the other hand are experiential and must include direct supervision by someone in the student’s home community. Students are required to make their own accommodation and food arrangements at the residencies. We have a billeting program available and will also assist in finding hotels/motels or bed and breakfasts.
