Graduates of all programs qualify as Naturotherapists (n.d.) with the Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists (ANN) in Canada. This means that graduates' services are covered by most extended health care plans in some provinces when providing naturopathic consultations in one of the above areas.
Each NTI program carries with it a set of professional criteria and specific CEU’s (continuing education units) laid out by the Open International Interfaith Ministry, enabling graduates to maintain their professional status over time through the Ministry’s Registration Board. All students must be members of the Open International Interfaith Ministry. NTI began in November of 2002. At that time, a number of people had expressed interest in this type of training within the Ministry, with a registration process which included on-going CEU’s (continuing education units) to maintain a professional status with credibility. OIIM Registration Board (discussed later) has the goals of: i) ensuring the public that those registered are credible and qualified to do what they say they can do; and ii) having a Board with the power to take disciplinary action in response to assessing complaints registered by the general public, OIIM members and congregants. |
Welcome to the iNtuitive Times Institute® (NTI), the seminary program for the Open International Interfaith Ministry® (OIIM). What is unique about our ministry program is its comprehensiveness. We train both Interfaith Spiritual Practitioners and Apprentices, and Interfaith Ministers. In addition to ministry NTI is also grounded in professional training that is common to other helping professions, such as traditional counselling and helping skills. NTI covers holistic wellness skills necessary for Interfaith practitioners and ministers to have a solid grounding in holistic wellness. We also include a component specifically designed to complement and enhance knowledge and skills of professional wellness and other helping professionals in the human services field. NTI programs are open to students from any country. At the end of your studies we do not set you adrift - we provide you a home through OIIM to support and tools as well as nurture and mentor you through setting up a practice and/or ministry.
NTI is a school without walls. It has no campus, no buildings, no classrooms and no dictated schedule for the distance learning. The intensive experiential 4 to 10 day residencies are offered in the peaceful serenity of Atlantic Canada. By special request and when appropriate, additional residencies may be held elsewhere for the convenience of students.
Although NTI's one certificate program is equivalent to 2 years of university study and the upper level diploma programs are equivalent to 3-4 years of university study, students work at their own pace in the comfort of their own homes. To suit their personal needs and life style, students can accelerate their pace or take longer.
Faculty members also work from their own homes or personal offices. Faculty and students communicate with each other via, telephone, Viedo-learning sessions, e-mail, and postal service. All instruction, textbooks and supporting materials are in the English language. We are pleased to offer formal studies in the Interfaith Ministry, which include specializations in spiritual counselling, spiritual healing (energy work), spiritual direction and spiritual mediumship through a unique combination of distance education, apprenticeship, video-learnings and experiential residencies. As an active student of the institute, you will be part of a network of highly gifted, talented and experienced students and faculty, working within an Interfaith - Interspiritual, inclusive community. Studies through the Institute will provide you with opportunities to develop and share your gifts with faculty and students. You will also learn from the experiences, knowledge and writings of gifted spiritual leaders and intuitives, past and present, and from the many cultures' healing modalities and spiritual traditions of the world.

We believe that God - the ALL - is the highest form of love, peace and wisdom and is by nature infinite and incomprehensible. We believe that God is a God of diversity as reflected in through the Physical Universe's many wonders, its myriad of forms and the diversity we see in our many religious traditions. We are interfaith in perspective, and believe that God’s message of unconditional love has been shared with the world’s different cultures and peoples throughout the ages resulting in our many religious traditions and ways of understanding Spirit. We express this with the phrase, “The Paths are Many, the Truth is One, Love Thy Neighbour.”
We believe that we are Spirit and that as such we possess natural gifts of intuitive and psychic vision which are the birthright of every human soul. We reject fear and believe that hatred and intolerance have no place within spiritual and religious practice. We recognize the power of thought to shape the world that we live in and celebrate the purposefulness of free will as we create our own life experiences and learn from our joys and challenges. As we understand more about spirituality and the nature of being human, we understand more about our personal responsibility in affecting the universe through our thoughts. Spirituality is about our relationship to God and our personal choices, all of which affect us and the world in which we live. The Institute’s goals are to make knowledge related to religious practice, personal spirituality, intuition and gifts of Spirit, and the power of embracing diversity universally available to all. We celebrate the fact that God is a God of diversity and that it is both what we share in common and what makes us different that makes the world more beautiful and helps us to better understand a God who is incomprehensible. Knowledge empowers and frees people from the fear born of ignorance. The Mission of the Interfaith Ministry, its leaders and ministers is to create and maintain: “a vibrant, Interfaith community that embraces diversity and empowers the receiving of and expression of the gifts of Spirit, in a spiritual community that draws on spiritual practices, knowledge and truths of all traditions and is served by trained, anointed and committed leaders who will inspire peace in their extended communities and amongst all people and to provide and home for those seeking a spiritual community that embraces the Intefaith/Interspiritual perspective.” |
